It’s a deceivingly easy walk, but before you know it your about to die!!!
We had intended to hike up from closer to Ayas, from some waterfall? But we went left on a road, missing red painted sign on rock and then went up and up until we arrived at transmission tower just about 300m vertical below the ruins. From there barely enough space to turn around and start hike traversing across to right until you run into red arrows marked trail up from Ayas to ruins. Area has old terraces, not too steep, can really walk up anywhere (which we did on way up). Great views from top of rock above the ruins (guarded by some cactus and a little steep).
Having a perfectly jolly run around Sunview Lake when I was stopped by a road crew widening the bridge at the east end of Sunview Lake. They were polite but would not let me cross. So I had to turn around and head back missing some early spring wildflower photo ops on the other side of the bridge which would add 2 miles to my run and I wasn't in the mood for that. Did take a few Henbit and Speedwell shaky pics. Should be attached to this post.
