I took the Lakes Trail until I got near the base of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Bush whacked/scrambled to the top. Awesome views at the top.

This was a pretty fun trail for utv’s etc, weather was great, it rained hard the day before so no dust and lots of puddles etc. saw some great wild life. Definitely will ride again.

Beautiful hike. Gives you a great view of the area including the falls. The parking lot does charge $5 which includes a QR so you don’t need cash. There is a sign to point out the mine opening as it’s a bit small and covered with plants now.

Could be a classic mtn bike loop but needs help. Lotsa downed trees across trail.

The first 2 miles are pretty, but can be crowded with people. Only saw 5 hikers on the next 4 miles to Long Lake which was very scenic with a lot of changing scenes - forest, rock features, meadows, and mountain creeks. Long Lake itself was not all I hoped it would be. It looked like an unimpressive man made Lake. Overall a great hike.

Easy trail part of which is old two track. Open areas and canopy of trees make this a pleasant ride. There are water crossings where horses can drink. Haunted Forest trail has bridge crossings. The bridges are well built
and sturdy. Beautiful ride in the fall

Lots of downed logs and trees so we had to bushwhack. We made it to Gilpin lake and pass and it was a long tiring hike back to the TH. Great hike! Lots of fun w the girls. Beautiful fall weather.

This was a fun hike today. We got off trail most of the way. Got to a spot on the other side of the mirror Lake that we had once taking the raft over to.

Fun ride. It’s a county road and might be boring to some. Great for beginners which I am

Causeway was very cool. Middle miles are a bit tedious on the flat top in my opinion. Bring a wind breaker.

Gradual ascent up FSR42 toward Sand and Meaden Peak. Good footing makes for easy running.

It's a gorgeous area and an enjoyable quick loop. The crowds can be annoying, but I find the views worth it. Went on 7/11/20 and there was still a decent amount of snow.

Great road with offshoots for trying some minor rock crawling. No cell service bring a friend or ham radio. Not very crowded at all. Some side by side and a few trucks.

We started the trailhead at 9am. Fields of Lupine and Columbine were abundant on the way up. To get to the top of the ears there is a shirt section of scrambling. Hiking poles helped through steep loose sections on the way down. This is National forest so you may encounter off road vehicles.

This is a great hike that is used less than the neighboring mad creek trail. There are various wildflowers, aspen groves, open space, and forest. You can hike, bike, and ride horseback on the trail. If you ride a horse, there are 2 places on the trail to let them drink. You can connect onto the mad creek trail.
