Overview

This is a moderate out and back trail in State Forest State Park in North-Central Colorado. It runs along the West side of the Nokhu Crags to Lake Agnes. While a busy trail for hiking in the summer and some skiing/snowshoeing in the winter, it's often a fun and quiet late-spring hike if one's willing to deal with some patches of snow. The trail contains absolutely spectacular views of the Nokhu Crags, mountains to the West, and Lake Agnes itself.

Getting Started

Take County Road 62 from Highway 14 just West of Cameron Pass. Follow clearly marked road signs to the Lake Agnes trailhead. If snow is present recreationalists may have to park at the lower parking lot or even at the Highway 14 pull-off where County Road 62 meets Highway 14. Parking in State Forest State Park lots requires a parking permit (available at the Moose Visitor Center near Gould, CO).
