Overview

Easy and scenic loop hike or snowshoe from Frog Lake Trailhead and Sno-Park in Mount Hood National Forest. Head north on wide and well maintained Pacific Crest Trail. For a clockwise loop continue past the first junction with Twin Lakes Loop Trail #495 to the second junction. Twin Lakes Loop Trail heads southeast, first to the Upper Twin Lake with a view of Mt Hood's peak and then down to the Lower Lake. Hike around the lake if desired and continue to meet back with the PCT.
Elevation gain is ~950 feet.

Getting Started

Ample parking in the Frog Lake Trailhead and Sno-Park. The trailhead is at Wapinitia Pass 4.2 miles south of the junction of highway 26 and 35, near milepost 62. The parking area has an outhouse and picnic tables. Snopark is also used by snowmobiles heading south.

Taking Children

Good hike for children, able to complete the distance or from the PCT take the first junction to Lower Twin Lake for a shorter hike.
