Barlow Butte Trail #670
Overview
This is a moderate hike to Barlow Butte in Mount Hood National Forest. The trail climbs ~1500 in 2 miles, but the grade is never particularly steep or difficult. The top provides partial views and the remains of an old lookout. Continue along the Barlow Ridge for additional views.
This hike can be done in all seasons, but the trail is not marked as a snow route and may be difficult to follow.
Getting Started
Park at the Barlow Butte snopark/trailhead. There is a privy. Depending on the season, a Northwest Forest Pass or Oregon Snopark permit is required. Forest Service Info
This hike starts at the SE corner of the parking lot. Note that several trails begin here, so pay attention to trail signs. The trail heads south and then turns east leaving the old arlow Road at 0.15 miles. At 0.5 miles the Barlow Butte trail continues SE, separating from the southbound Devils Half Acre Trail.
