Overview

Popular for backpacking, camping, and hiking, the trail also offers moments of solitude during quieter times. Open year-round, it’s a beautiful destination any time of the year. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

The Hunchback Trail begins near the Zigzag Ranger Station and winds through dense forest up to the summit of Devil’s Peak, where an old fire lookout stands. Along the ascent, hikers can catch occasional views of nearby Mount Hood. Note that the fire lookout is no longer maintained, and public access inside the tower is prohibited.

Great hike if you don't mind some vertical gain. Didn't have views since it was cloudy but you do get some great views of the surrounding area and Mt Hood. Flowers were just starting to bloom.
