Overview
This is a difficult out and back trail to Surprise Lake in Grand Teton National Park.
This trail goes by Amphitheater Lake.
Pack something to read and relax at Amphitheater Lake. Hike uphill to the campsites and be rewarded with great views of Delta lake! DO pack bear spray.
Getting Started
Follow the signs to the Lupine Meadow trailhead and be prepared to hunt for parking unless you arrive early. This is the climbers' trail for the Grand Teton as well. There are a few forks to watch for, but the trail is well marked.

Hiked this on Labor Day left house at 7:15. Really busy through Park entrance. Tons of people at TH. We had to park 1/2 miles away. Added 1 mile to a tough hike.
Conclusion.
Don’t hike on Labor Day, get there early.
7:30 or 8.
