It had been raining for weeks and we were pleasantly surprised there was just a few small mud holes that you could easily go around. We had a great time, we only saw one other person the entire time we were there. 6/8/2019

Very nice! I actually did a sort of double-red loop, first taking the “short red trail” cutoff and then doubling back to complete the outer loop, too. Per other recommendations, I did the trail counter-clockwise, which put the ankle-deep water crossing towards the end of the hike. Mostly flat but with just enough elevation differential to keep things interesting. The first part of the trail suffers from Hwy 65 road noise, but once you get a bit past the cemetery, that dissipates and for almost the entire rest of the time (until the last bit through the campground area), it’s very quiet and serene through dense woods. My first Busiek hike; looking forward to trying the rest of them! NB: the shooting range is closed Mondays so that may be a good day to do the west side hikes.

Good hike, a little hard to find the trail at times, BEAUTIFUL in the fall with the leaves changing.

This was a great hike to get back at it. The first portion is pretty much up hill will some great views over the river. There is a downhill portion with the remaining 2ish miles being flat.

The upper part of the trail is fun. The lower part follows a road and there is a fair amount of road noise.

Beautiful short trail. Our hike ended up right at 3 miles from the parking lot. We did this in the winter. Great views of the falls and then the trail continues down to the river. Little bit of uphill and then a nice coast back to the parking lot. Grabbed lunch at a local spot and headed on home.

The trails were carpeted with freshly fallen leaves, It hadn't rained lately so the footing was mostly good, and the creek crossings were easy. A walking stick was helpful as the leaves made the footing slippery at times on inclines.

The asters were blooming. The trail was dry as it hadn't rain within the last 3 days.
