Oak Creek Trailhead via 6021(edit)

I bought a new Don Joy knee brace for my right knee and found it much tighter than my old one which means my old one must’ve been pretty stretched out. I started at the Oak Creek parking area. I went up to Homestead Trail to the road and took the road up to the Narnia trail. And then took Narnia down the hill on the backside and came down to the road where I picked up as you wish trail. I took as you wish until it crossed an old overgrown road turned right and went up to the main road, which comes out just above the old quarry. And then took the road down back to Narnia and Homestead trails. I did not do too much running early on, but once I got warmed up, I was able to run nearly all of the uphill from the road up the Narnia trail back up to Homestead. It was a fairly warm day today, but there was a good breeze blowing from the northwest. Still have the issue of that soreness on the left side of my chest when I breathe hard. It eventually goes away, but it is definitely annoying. It might be associated with my pectoral muscle so I try to massage it and stretch it before running. 

It was a nice cool and breezy day today. I started at Oak Creek, went up to Homestead Trail, and then took the road up to the Narnia Trail. Instead of going on to the as you wish trail I turned right on the road and went up past the old quarry to the T, and then went to the right or east to the end of the road. I wanted to try to find the old trail that used to come south of that road. I was able to find it but it petered out in a bunch of poison oak fairly quickly and so I did not go any further. This is a long hike that I normally do on a bicycle, but my bike is still in the shop.

Another 70° day today and it was actually pretty warm and sweaty running and hiking today in my T-shirt and shorts. My legs were pretty tired I think from the mountain bike ride that I took on Tuesday, having not ridden for a while. So it was kind of slow going, but I still managed to do a little running here and there. I didn’t get as far on the as you wish trail up to where it crosses the road because I ran out of time, but I still got a fair distance up the trail before having to turn around and come back. 

Took a hike from Oak Creek up the Homestead Trail turned left on the road and went up to the Narnia trail, back down as you wish trail and just went a short distance up that before I had to turn around and come back. Everything is very dry. The Patterson Road is closed after the Y due to logging activity. We are hoping they don’t wreck the area too much.

Hadn’t been to oak creek in a while so decided to take a hike up the Homestead trail to Narnia trail and up the road past the old quarry. A grader on that road brought up lots of big rocks, making for lousy footing. I dont think it’s ridable any more. Bummer.
