White Pine Lake
This tour is always a slog but worth the views at the end. This was more of an exploratory dawn patrol to evaluate snow coverage. We need more snow. The upper bowl of this drainage always gets a lot of wind activity and the upper snow conditions could be described as styrofoamy, stiff and god awful. The sheltered and lower angle aspects below the tree line were still good and many shots can be taken between the switchbacks on the way down but we abstained on many of them due to the thin coverage. Lake Chute and Boulder Basin were unfortunately to thin to ski.
