North Mineral Mountain Road and North Reymert Road(edit)

This trak is out in the Box Canyon area. We accessed this from Mineral Mountain off US Hiway 60. Our objective was the Reymert mine shown the topo map. The distance shown was one way. Lots of the last 1-2 miles was up a wash that had recently carried lots of water, so we had to pick our way up. We saw a shack built into the mountain on a spur just below the smelting ovens. It looks occupied since their was beach chair on it's covered front porch. We didn't disturb any occupants. The ovens and other stuctures were interesting to view. We probably needed more time to investigate, but needed to head back to town. The trip is well worth it to see this piece of history. We plan to do it again. See you on the road out there!
