Big Huckleberry Mountain via Grassy Knoll Trail
This is a moderate out and back trail to Big Huckleberry Mountain in Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
This trail goes by Grassy Knoll.
Trail is both in the trees and in the open. In season expect to see numerous wildflowers in the open meadows and saddles. Both Grassy Knoll and Big Huckleberry Mountain are sites of former lookouts. Views to both Mount Hood and Mount Adams at locations throughout the trail. Hike the Grassy Knoll Trail to the PCT and the trail to the summit of Big Huckleberry Mount is right off the PCT where you join it.
Trail is backpackable and there is a "camp" location near Cold Springs.
There is parking across the road from the Trailhead sign, about 4 vehicles. There is other places to park vehicles off the side of the roadway. The trail starts at the Grassy Knoll Trail #146 sign (5 1/2 miles to the the Pacific Crest Trail).
