Dog River, Mt. Hood National Forest
Fantastic views of Mt. Hood reward you at the lookout, which is located a little over 3 miles. This is where I turned around and came back too. For being such a beautiful Saturday, I only encountered 1 hiker and 5 people on mountain bikes. Not complaining though. :) Dipping my hot, tired feet in Dog River at the end, priceless. There are a few history plaques in the parking area about some major flooding that occurred. Worth a read.
