Inspiration Point via Cloud Cap Road(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate out and back trail to Inspiration Point in Mount Hood National Forest.

This trail goes by Cooper Spur Ski Area.

Driving Directions
Via Sandy:

From the last traffic light in Sandy, drive Highway 26 east for 30.9 miles past Government Camp and bear right onto Highway 35 for Hood River.

Drive 16.9 miles on Highway 35 and turn left onto Cooper Spur Road.

Go 2.4 miles and make a sharp left onto Cloud Cap Road opposite the Inn at Cooper Spur.

After 1.0 miles, keep right for Tilly Jane Campground and Cloud Cap. Keep right again after 0.5 miles. Here the road becomes gravel.

Wind up for 8.3 miles (The upper part of this section has numerous water bars, so go slowly!) to a junction.

Turn left here and drive for 0.5 miles to the Tilly Jane parking area.

Via Hood River:

Drive I-84 east to Exit 64 for Highway 35, White Salmon, and Government Camp.

Turn right after exiting and then right again 20 yards later at another Stop sign. From here, drive 0.3 miles to a Stop sign at a four-way junction.

Go straight here on Highway 35 for Odell, Parkdale, and Mt. Hood. Drive 22.5 miles up Highway 35.

Make a right turn onto Cooper Spur Road for the Cooper Spur Mountain Resort. Go 2.4 miles and make a sharp left onto Cloud Cap Road opposite the Inn at Cooper Spur.
