You pay to park so make sure you have your credit card. I don't think the machine takes cash. Portable toilets available at the start and a coffee shop.
Taking Children
Kids can do this trail but small children not recommended.
This is an alternate route for Barr Trail Loop.

Climb up averages 31-35% incline that does get a bit steeper in sections. About 2/3 of the way up is the Barr Loop exit point that circles back down to the parking area and makes for a nice loop. The descent is much more leisurely at -7% to -15% grades. Total distance is 2.4 miles for the Barr Trail Loop. If you decide to continue to the top you've got another 1000 steps to climb with an average of additional 1 hour to reach the top. Signs stated that descent from the top was approx. 2 hours via trail. Descent on incline not recommended.
