Bear's Den Overlook via Appalachian Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate one way trail in Bear's Den Park. This trail goes by Bear's Den Overlook.

You can either park in the big lot at the top of the East boud side of Rt 7 or in the smaller lot on the West bound side of 7. We usually start in the smaller lot. As you see in the altitude profile there is quite a bit of up and down ending with a great view at the top of Raven Rock. We have done this hike in every season and although I hate to publicize it too much the fall is beautifull. Yup, the fall brings out a lot of fall leaf peepers. So, if you go in the fall be prepared for quite a few of fellow hikers. Hiking this in winter is nice too, it can be icy.
