Overview
This is a easy loop trail to Bailly Beach in Cowles Bog National Natural Landmark.
This trail goes by Cowles Bog Trail, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Southeast Pond, Eastern Wetland, North Blag Slough, Mount Tuthill, Mount Bentley, Little Lake, and Red Maple Swamp.
This is an alternate route for Mount Tuthill Loop via Cowles Bog Trail and Greenbelt Trail.

Nice little trail. One end of it goes by an electrical station, but once you get past that it’s wooded except for a short bit along the beach and a bit along a pretty safe-feeling road. Wear a swimsuit if it’s a nice day! A couple of fairly steep but manageable dunes to climb, and the trail is primarily sand.
We went early on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet, but it seemed like by late morning there were a lot of people heading in to hang out at the beach. The parking lot was completely full when we left.
