Flat Laurel Creek Trail/Old Railroad Grade Loop(edit)

26° F when we started out. Walked a loop from 215 out to Flat Laurel Creek, down between Sam Knob and Little Sam, back to 215 with a short K.U. (1/2 mile) back to the car. By the afternoon I was in just a sweater! Lovely walk, and a good test of the knee brace.

unbelievable hike. respectable grade the whole way. cool waterfalls and tons of stream crossings. Top of the lists of all the Appalachians.
