Busy on the weekends. If you turn away from the river on one of the smaller trails you will run across little to no others.

This is at the National Park Service C&O Canal in Maryland.it starts at the West End of the Billy Goat Trail C. It starts by the parking lot for the climbing area and goes to the eastern most parking lot of Carderock. The exit from trail is market Pavillion. Walk back on road

With Calvin, lots bird watching, did not see Eagles nest empty. In canal watchd snapping turtles mate pretty cool. Beautiful weather. I drove.

Really nice level hike with opportunities to get down to the Potomac River and be isolated from the crowd.

SL’s first hike. Very short hike due to significant rain on Christmas Day and now fooding on some parts of the trail.

Riverbend Trail
On the opposite site of Great Falls Park. Good alternative to Great Falls Park. Good view, pretty flat and moderate distance.

Potomac Heritage Trail is fine up to American Legion but crossing Dead Run is not easy nor fun for me. And Dead Run trail includes several scrambles across gullies with a Rope and a prayer.
