April 29 hike. Minimal snow before the junction with 8 Lakes Basin trail (enjoyed the noisy frogs @ Twin Lakes). Also lots of downed trees but nothing that was too difficult to get around. From the junction to the summit there were sections with a lot of snow.. easy walking in the AM ascent; some post holing in the PM return (we had snowshoes but didn't use them; would have had to put on/take off frequently). Route finding was difficult at times; definitely need a good map. Don't depend on earlier hiker tracks, our ascent tracks were nearly gone by the time we returned. Once we got to the final switchbacks, route finding was easier and there was less snow due to south facing slope. Summit has deep snow but several rocks available for resting, eating and enjoying the fantastic view. Gave a rating of 3 starts because of heavy snow, downed trees, and challenging route finding. View is 5 stars!!

The destination of Jefferson Park is spectacular. The hike in and out through the fire scar has a stark beauty of its own but it long, hot, and dusty. Sitting at Russell Lake with Mt Jefferson as your view for lunch makes it all worth it

Beautiful hike, no snow, some mosquitoes at the lake. Would be 5 stars but the trail is sandy in parts due to horses.

It was a nice hike. The gradual elevation gain and distance was short enough that I could bring my non-hiker friends. Real beautiful.

Backpacked this route 7/13. Weather was beautiful and hardly anyone on the trail. No one else was at the lake. Mosquitoes were ferocious almost the entire trail, but especially at Wasco Lake. The mosquitoes pretty much ignored that we had DEET on and a fire going. There were lots of snow crossings. About a dozen were a few hundred feet, another dozen were much more lengthy. We were able to do it without microspikes, but it was slow going.

Trail to Pamelia Lake is in a beautifully diverse forest and includes a stream that looks as if from a fairytale. After quite a climb up Grizzly Peak with many long switchbacks, you’re rewarded with an amazing view of Mt. Jeff and a great snack spot.

Stunning hike. Most of the hike is pretty straight forward on the PCT. once on the ridge you just have to pick a route and go. The crawl was rather simple. We did use rope here while down climbing. Only cause of blind holds. The summit block is awesome. Take at least 3 liters of water. No shade for a good portion of the hike. No place to filter which we saw. A must do!

Wasn’t able to finish the loop because there was too much snow on the PCT part and we didn’t bring the right equipment. Hiked in through square lake and up past jack lake for a couple nights of backpacking. Beautiful views, lots of bugs, moderate hike. Will be back.

The fall colors were out! Seeing Marion Falls and Marion Lake were spectacular
