Three days following a big rain, so the creek crossings were a bit challenging in places. Just a few patches of mud elsewhere. The trail conditions were otherwise in great shape. This hike cuts through multiple ecosystems. It’s like a tour of the park. Lots of Bison. Several horses. Mule Deer. It’s very hikeable, but not for the unmotivated. Take lots of water.

This was through petrified forest stumps and rocks. Super cool. Everyone did well, even the kids.

We picked the windiest spring day but we had a great time. We also kept running into gates which I assume means we’re at the end but we wanted to keep going. We found a Buffalo skull with the spine still attached, a smaller Buffalo skull and several random bones with hooves still attached! So cool!! We can’t wait to go back!
