4 mile loop hike around 2 lovely ponds. BigMoose Pond has a sandy/ gravelly beach with benches; good spot for swimming and picnics. You then have several short steep climbs and descents and a great 240o view at the Scenic Overlook over Big Moose Mtn, Moosehead Lake and beyond to Big and Little Spencer Mtns amongst others. There are also campsite areas at each pond.

Beautiful loop trail with only some elevation gain and two spectacular open views, looking primarily north and west but also offering some views to the East. Beautiful vistas of Moosehead Lake, encompassing Rockwood, Mt. Kineo, Lobster lake, the Spencer mountains, and of course Big Moose Mt. (formerly Squaw Mt). The westerly viewpoint also takes I the LilY Bay mountains, elephant mtn, Barren, and Borestone.
The ponds directly below are also quite beautiful. Round trip just under 4 miles.
