Shady almost the entire way. There were many areas where poison oak is growing into the trail. It is hard to avoid brushing up against it.

This hike begins at the Land of Medicine Buddha (Buddhist Retreat and Wellness Center). Parking is very limited in their small private parking lot and prior approval should be obtained. A $5.00 or more donation should be made for each person hiking the trails in their part of the forest (private property!). The LMB forest leads into the Forest of Nisene Marks, similar scenery, and trees. Very quiet surroundings and comfortable trails. A pleasure to hike in this magical forest!

Incredibly pretty hike with waterfalls. The last bit to Maple falls follows the creek at the bottom of the canyon and can be a bit of a scramble.

A pretty trail that includes a wide variety of terrains and environments. Park at or hike to the trail start which has a bike rack made from old railway track. Hike along a constantly flowing creek and then climb to the ridge top. The poison oak in the spring often hangs into the trail.
