To begin there is no trail to follow on all trails but using Gaia was really helpful and easy to follow the path. It is very hard, you have to know how to navigate and be ready for areas with loose scree and in high elevation. Had to hike 3k feet in 2 miles, next time I’ll bag this peak

Trail keeps getting better if you enjoy a challenge. The trail is washed out in 2 places 2.5 miles from Cerro Gordo, there's a sign at Cerro Gordo that says "travel not advised". If you have a lifted well built rig you can get through the washouts. The rest of the trail just keeps getting rougher from the rains and snow melt. Some very steep climbs up gnarly trail. Have fun, be careful. The BLM said they weren't going to maintain this road any more many years ago, I hope they keep this promise, trail gets more challenging every year.
