Nice easy hike with some elevation. Older kids, some younger and retired folks seemed to have no problems. Three waterfalls, one being quite unique: Svartifoss.

Moderate to tough hike but not too long. Great payoff at the main waterfall on your left. You can continue on until you come to the end of the road and it cliffs our. Great views!

Unglaublich schöne Wanderung mit Sicht auf den Gletscher und ein phantastisches Bergpanorama. Wir hatten viel Wind, teilweise auch Gegenwind. Die Steigung ist gemütlich, der Weg aber eher anspruchsvoll, da es viel Geröll auf dem Weg hat (wir waren froh um die Stöcke). Am Schluss zieht sich das Ganze etwas, dort kann man dann aber auch etwas zügiger gehen.
Definitiv eine der schönsten Wanderungen, die ich je gemacht habe!

First third and last third was with stunning landscape and view. Middle part was a bit just walking.

Excellent but challenging hike. Choose a day with good weather and little to no cloud cover and it will be very much worth while. PS: Go with a guide, the crevasses are starting to open up

A rather easy, but astonishing hike around the western shore until you reach the outskirts of the glacier.
The amazing thing is that you’ll definitely hear (and most likely see) some of the “icebergs” breaking apart, as you hike your way.
If you go cross country beyond the marked path, you may need to ford some ankle deep rivers flowing into the lake (so take along some sandals)
