This is not an easy hike and it is demanding. Thoroughly enjoyable and certainly a serious workout. Watch out for rocks, slippery roots, and muddy sections.

Really good hike but lots of snow at north end in the up and down gorges made parts of the trail slippery and added to our time. Too snowy at 3rd Debris Chute to have lunch so continued on the lower path for about 20 minutes until we found a suitable dry and sunny spot for lunch.

A favourite exercise hike, even better on the weekend when there are lots of people and dogs about reducing any risk of bear activity to zero.

While it’s not necessarily a super hard hike with a lot of elevation it must be noted the trail is not maintained or patrolled.
Just be a bit slippery due to the mud and wet rocks.

Great hike, hard work!! 23km from start to finish (12km of which was basically just straight walking). There was minimal snow at the top - only about 2/3 snow crossings that were at most about 10 feet or so. Crampons not needed but someone may be more comfortable using them to cross the short distance. I had them but didn’t use them. Bugs were raving but not biting 🤣. Only one other person on the trail.

Even in winter the parking lot was full - mostly with mountain bikers. Had to park an extra km down the road. Just as what everyone else noted, spikes are helpful but at the moment the trail hops between
icy patches and mud, it was great though. It gets a little technical at times too. Enjoy!

Great hike up to Coliseum. Some slippery and muddy spot. Unfortunately the view was squashed because of the smoke from the fires down south. Well marked trail.
