Hooker Falls Loop
Overview
This is a easy out-and-back trail in DuPont State Forest that goes by Hooker Falls and Triple Falls.
The trail to Hooker Falls starts on the same side of the river as the parking lot, before you cross, down to the right. It's a short walk, mostly downhill, to the falls. There are plenty of rocks to climb on for the best views and you can even swim in the summer.
Back at the start of the trail, cross the bridge to begin the Triple Falls trail. You'll follow the river until the trail becomes steep as you get closer to the overlook. At the top of the hill, a staircase leads downward for a close-up view of the falls.
Getting Started
The trail begins at the Hooker Falls Access Area off Staton Road in DuPont State Forest. There's a parking lot right near the road and another overflow one at Triple Falls Parking with more spaces. Both parking lots fill up quickly on the weekends.
Taking Children
This is a good hike for children with only one steep hill leading up to the Triple Falls overlook. The trails are wide but do become crowded on weekends. Take caution around the rocks and water, as they are often slick.
