425 and Kohechi(edit)

Miura - Hiratani | Day 3 of 4 | Kumano Kodo | Kohechi Route A steep but steady climb at the beginning. After that it’s all downhill from there (figuratively ;-) ). We were a bit worried that the final 10 km would be unpleasant since it’s paved and we thought we might end up in the slipstream of lots of cars, but there were actually hardly any vehicles at all. It turned out to be a lovely final stretch, with wide open views and charming mountain villages along the way. Important note: if you're staying at an inn in Totsukawa Onsen — we accidentally continued too far and crossed the bridge that actually belongs to the Day 4 route. So I recommend turning left right after you pass the small viaduct. (If you're staying at Hotel Subaru, you will find your hotel before entering the small viaduct so this message doesn't apply to you — please ignore!)

Primer terç hi ha una pujada de 700 m per un cami de muntanya, fins arribar al coll de Miura Toge (on hi ha uns lavabos i una area de descans). Els propers 7km son de baixada per muntanya, fins a arribar a la carretera a nivell de Nishinaka. A partir de llavors cal recorrer uns 7km de carretera, ben avorrits, pero planers i amb fonts i maquines dispensadores de begudes bastant seguides. Arribada a l'Hotel Subaru.
