This is a moderate out and back trail in Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The trail starts at Gumboot Trailhead. Starting at the Gumboot Trailhead on Forest Road 26, this scenic Pacific Crest Trail hike follows a gently rolling ridgeline south to Gumboot Saddle. Due to the sparse forest and the high elevation, views of the surrounding mountains are frequent. This hike is an excellent choice for hikers looking for a lot of bang for their buck.
Getting Started
The trail starts on the opposite side of the road from the trailhead parking area.
Taking Children
Due to the moderate elevation gain and the short distance, this is a good hike for kids.
