Mom was up in Portland doing a swimming activity this evening so I decided to take a longer hike than usual. I started at soap Creek and went up the right hand road to the steep trail that climbs up to another road at the edge of a big clear cut. I took that road to the left down to the entrance of the trail of woe. I was interested to see if that trail was still being used as it is typically in pretty bad shape. It is still being used by bikes as I can see from their tracks. It is still pretty chopped up and rutted, but passable. I came out on the road that divides the watersheds And turned left and then another left and headed up the hill toward the Iris Meadow Trail. That was also open and I took that back down to the main 760 Road and walked back down to the soap Creek entrance. It was a beautiful evening with a breeze blowing and very mild temperatures. Could not ask for better weather. 

Took a wet exploratory hike into areas I have been to for a while abs for good reason as it turns out!
