Heather Lake Loop via Hollyburn Peak Trail(edit)

Hiked in from the south. 105 Hikes suggested a loop using the "old Strachan trail" but the peak and a considerable proportion of the hike was snow-covered (June 15), and the trail did not show on Gaia, so I didn't trust that option. However, instead of retracing our steps, we looped over to the Strachan Trail. The portion between Hollyburn peak and the Strachan trail was rugged, steep, and entirely snow-covered. But it also included the best views of the hike (toward the Twin Sisters). The whole hike is rocks and roots, but very pleasant. Best done on a very clear day (too hazy this time) so you can see far out into the ocean. The peak has a 360 view but not terribly dramatic.
