Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.
This trail was heavily utilized for imports and exports throughout the 19th century because Keauhou was utilized as a port.
Nowadays Keauhou is one of eight backcountry sites. Camp permits may be obtained by visiting the backcountry office in the park.

Begin at Mau Loa o Maunaulu at the Keauhou Trailhead located on Chain of Craters Road.
