Juniper Peak via Juniper Ridge Trail #261
Overview
This is a difficult one way trail to Juniper Peak in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The trail climbs through the forest. There are no views until you get close to the ridge. The trail is steep and deeply rutted from motorbike use. Some steep sections are dangerous with loose dirt and rocks. After 2.8 miles the trail emerges from the trees onto the ridge on the north side of Juniper Peak. The trail then skirts around the east slope towards a rock garden just south of the peak. A very steep user trail heads up the south slope of Juniper Peak, however the trail itself has plenty of views.
Getting Started
Trailhead parking is located on the left side of Road 2904. The trail heads south on the right side of the road. (The trail heading north on the left side of the road goes to Tongue Mountain).
