Day 4: Reds Meadow-Purple Lake
Long, hot, dry day. Right knee locked up halfway through dry section, thought about turning back to Red's and bailout. Tracy kept an eye on me. One of my most difficult days of the whole trip. This is when the blisters started showing up. I was hoping to make it to Lake Virginia as a lot of hikers I spoke to said it is one of their favorite campsites on the trail. Unfortunately, because of my knee issues and general fatigue I decided to pull up a few miles short at Purple Lake. Purple lake ended up being spectacular. That night I laid out on my airpad and watched the most intense meteor shower I had ever seen.
