It’s steep! But the views are worth it. On the way back down you get sweeping views of all the Mammoth Lakes. Part way up the trail you’ll get to a fork, to the left is dragons back, middle is seven lakes loop and right is to a lava tube. I prefer to make it a loop, go up the middle path towards seven lakes loop. On the way back down, take the dragons back trail.
