This trail goes by White Gate Trailhead, Cardiac Hill, Redwood Tree Slice, Pinchot Tree, Bohemian Grove, and Cathedral Grove.

Stunning views. I recommend going clockwise so you are coming out of the visitors center at Muir Woods rather than going in. We went counterclockwise, which meant we had to enter Muir Woods, requiring us to pay the entrance fee. My Garmin actually measured this closer to 11 miles and a vertical gain closer to 3k.
