Attempt to summit Mount Saint Helens
Was a great day, camped at the trailhead and started at 545am
Hit snow about a mile in, but continued on my shoes to just shy of mile 3 because I was making good time... Then the real uphill climb started. Transitioned to crampons for a bit, then back to skins.
. Made it to about 2500 vertical feet below summit. I was just too tired and exhausted to finish. On the way down about halfway, white out fog rolled in and destroyed visibility, maybe 30 ft? Was fortunate enough to find 2 helpful souls, Amy and Jenny, who let me tag along with them on The descent and has a team worked out route finding in the white out.
