Fonta Flora Trail Loop(edit)

Overview

The Fonta Flora trail is located in the Fonta Flora County park. The trail is rated moderate, due to the length. My track took me 4.13 miles from parking lot to parking lot. The track is designed for mountain bikes, but hikers are also welcomed. All of the bikers we encountered were courteous. There are some awesome views of Lake James on this hike. We took the trail in a counter clockwise direction and the hills were very manageable.

This trail goes by Lake James.

Getting Started

There is ample parking. The trailhead is located just behind the public restrooms. There are several locations on this trail that will take you to another trail. You will follow several different blazes, so pay attention. Have your Gaia gps going and you won’t wonder if you take the proper turn.

Taking Children

This is an ideal hike for kids, although it may be a little long. The trail is wide and well maintained. There is little risk of tripping.
