Verkeerderkill Falls/High Point Loop
12/18/2020: Incredible hike. Super gnarly. Did this hike clockwise. Total time was 7 hours. Snowshoes the entire trail. Most of the trail was unbroken except for the carriage roads. Drift from 6 to 36 inches but absolutely stunning. Snow was still mostly powder from storm two days earlier so it was a slog. 1.5 mph pace. Difficult winter hike.
Sam's Point Overlook to Long Path / Shawangunk Ridge Trail
Incredible views from Sam’s Point to the Falls, then the ridge hike along the bales with some of the most spectacular vistas.
Final 2.5 miles on the gravel road is long and arduous. Entire trail about 90% exposed to sun.
