Bear Creek Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate one way trail in Uncompahgre National Forest just south of Ouray, Colorado.

The portion of the trail described here trail gains 1,400 feet of elevation over 2 miles, with most of the gain at the beginning. After making your way up switch backs for the first approximately 1.25 miles, you will traverse along the sides of a canyon with Bear Creek below. Views are dramatic.

Getting Started

The trailhead for Bear Creek Trail is just off of the US-550, the Million Dollar Highway, 2 miles south of Ouray, CO. The trail begins on the west side of the road and there is ample parking on the east side of the road.
