Moonshine and Confusion Falls via Naturaland Trust Trail #14
Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail in Caesars Head State Park. It is also the most direct, public access to get to these beautiful falls.
The hike begins where the Pinnacle Pass Trail crosses Hwy 276. It is a short, uphill climb to join the Naturaland Trust Trail, where you will follow it to the left, downhill. At around 1.5 miles in, there is a small, attractive waterfall below the trail to the right. The turnoff to the falls is not far after this (~ 1/3 miles), at a sharp turn in the trail with a pile of rocks.
Take this well-maintained spur trail to the left, and you will pass an old kiosk. Eventually you will come to a junction with a roadbed where a sign clearly points to Moonshine Falls to the right.
Moonshine Falls has a lot of character, and you can walk behind it and view the remnants of old moonshine barrels. A user trail leads down the creek from here, past an unnamed waterfall, now labeled "Timmy Falls". This leads to Confusion Falls, so named because two separate creeks come together right here.
Return the way you came, being prepared for a steeper climb on your way out.
