No té perdua.

Laguna Torre Trail - El Chalten
Laguna Torre Trail - El Chalten The Laguna Torre trail is one of the easiest in El Chalten, despite the distance of 19 km. We started the trail at the iron stairs that lead to the upper part of El Chalten; we were staying 100 meters from the stairs. There is no access control on this trail, but I was informed that this entrance will soon be closed, and only the controlled entrance will remain, the same as Mirador Fitz Roy. The initial stretch is uphill, and after 3.5 km, we reached the Cerro Torre viewpoint. Unfortunately, Cerro Torre was hidden by the clouds. The trail descends the slope and follows the Fitz Roy River valley on a long, flat stretch, and near Laguna Torre, a small climb to reach the edge of the Laguna. The wind was very strong, and the clouds continued to prevent a better view of Cerro Torre. After a stop for photos and a snack, we decided to go to Mirador Maestri. We climbed the Moraine and followed the trail. The gusts of wind were getting stronger, making the walk difficult. We arrived at a place where it was dangerous to proceed with the intense wind. Since the clouds hid even the Glacier, we gave up and started our return. We returned via the trail of the Prestadores de Servicio campsite; it was a good choice, a beautiful trail through a Lenga forest. Further ahead, we met the main trail and returned to El Chalten. This is an easy trail that does not present any particularly difficult sections. The trail to Mirador Maestri is a bit more difficult; it has an uphill section on the Moraine of Laguna Torre and then follows the slope on a flat stretch. With intense wind, it is a bit dangerous, and there is a risk of accidents. The section of the trail that goes to the Access Control Post I walked the next day when I returned from the Chorrillo del Salto waterfall to El Chalten, passing the Mirador Cerro Torre. It is also an easy stretch with a few more climbs.

Laguna Torre
Started from El Chalten at 7:15 a.m., a bit before dawn, and was treated to a nice sunrise over town. The trail was generally pretty clear, and not too crowded. The lenga beech trees were starting to turn red, which made for a nice contrast with the snowy peaks. There isn't a lot of elevation gain on this hike, so the hiking was pretty easy. I reached the lake in about 2.5 hours. There were maybe 20 other hikers there when I arrived.

Hike from El Chaltén to Laguna Torre
Easy valley hike with spectacular landscape impressions. A good path leads through primeval forest and open terrain with many viewpoints.
