Overview
Hike or Bike this out and back trail paralleling the Pacific Ocean on an escape road. Most of the hike is over a 1983-2018 eruption that decimated over 210 structures and added over 400 acres of land to the growing island.
Getting Started
This hike begins at the the end of Chain of Craters Road which is a 45 minute drive from the Kilauea Visitor Center (last chance for flushing toilets and water) at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
