Great hike, nice trail but there are dirt/mud/roped sections on the upper trail and up to the summit. There are deep canyons cut into the dirt hillside that can barely fit one foot or else you have to straddle on top of the cut. Several view plateaus on the way up and spectacular views from the summit. 1500’ of gain over 5.5 mi with a lot of us and downs in the middle.

This is my favorite hike on the island. Its about 5 hours round trip at a good pace. Once you get to the top. You can see town and Kailua at the same time on a clear day. It’s amazing feeling the clouds blow into you when they blow over from the Kailua side. Definitely recommend this hike!
