Took my 7 year old son for his first backpacking overnight to the pond. Once to the pond there was plenty to explore and do. Water was nice and cool to rest the feet in. Sunset was beautiful and the stars from the tent platform were great. The view from the shelter across the pond was gorgeous. There are two latrine, one behind sites 3 & 4 and another by site 6 and the shelter, and a bear bag line for everyone by sites 2 & 3. There was a section roped off due to over use. Sites 5 & 6 had tents on them however no one was there and one had been blown around upside down. Sites 1, 2 & 3 had fairly open line of sight from/to the trail.
