Backpacking Broken Top
Who: Chris, DeAnn, Justin, Jess, Atlas, Marco
Beautiful sunset, stars and sunrise. Steep but short hike up to camp. Camped on the ridge below the rim (need to camp at least 1/4 mile away from No Name Lake) - sooo windy at night. Would be better to camp a little further down in the valley. Was warm in the tent away from the wind (in Solomon 15 sleeping bag with blanket for Marco). Busy trail. Worked great to get there at 4:30 so we got to camp before sunset but most of the day hikers were hiking out. Hiked back out the next morning early - trailhead already busy at 9-10am.
