Overview

This is a moderate loop trail in Lory State Park located in Roosevelt National Forest. The inclines are moderate and the decent is very steep. It would be good to use trekking poles to help with your knees. Mountain bikes are allowed on about three fourths of the trail. If done on a bike you need to be very good at technical biking.

Getting Started

This hike is in Lory State Park. There is a $9.00 charge per car or you can use an annual Colorado Parks Pass.

Taking Children

This is a tough hike for children under 8. The trail is steep in places and the terrain is rough.

Trail was dry. There were numerous people on the Arthur's Rock Trail portion of the loop. Saw a few others after that. There were a few deer on the trail and you could hear a turkey in the distance.
