This is a moderate loop trail in F. D. Roosevelt State Park.
The official name for this loop (per Pine Mountain Trail Association map) is Wolf Den Loop.
This trail goes by Bumblebee Ridge Campsite, Old Sawmill Campsite, Sassafras Hill Campsite, and WJSP Picnic Site.

Lush creek bottoms, unique waterfalls, and ridgline hiking mark some of the highlights of this sometimes technical trail. I think the mix of clockwise and counterclockwise is about 50-50. This trail is a great place to get into high country, southernmost appalachians. $5 parking fee at trailead .

We hiked the loop counterclockwise starting at the tv tower. Hit all the little waterfalls in the 1st two miles, left 5 hot and muggy miles for the end to finish the loop. The trail was well marked and in pretty good shape. Some trash and muddy parts. Be careful on wet rocks, it took 4 hours to evaluate gentlemen who fell and broke his leg on the trail. Next time, I would do this hike clockwise or start at the other parking lot so that the waterfalls were in the middle to end of this hike. This is a long hike but not difficult.

Wolf Den Loop
The Wolf Den Loop is 6.7 miles. This is considered one of the most beautiful stretches of trail in the Southeast and is the most popular section of Pine Mountain Trail system. The Wolf Den Loop is formed with the 1.7 mile Beaver Pond Trail (White blaze) and 5 miles of the main PMT (Blue blaze). There are two trailhead entry points to this loop. One is at the parking lot near the WJSP-TV tower on Alt US 85W just north of Ga. 190 and the other on Ga. 190 at Rocky Point Parking Lot (noted on the PMT map as near Mile 18.) Thus you can hike the loop from either point and suggested is hiking the loop clockwise. Hiking at 30 minutes to the mile, this will take about 4 hours depending on your pace.

6.5 Day Hike Start at WJSP Picnic Site on the Pine mountain trail to cascade falls cross Rocky Point Parking to Beaver Point trail back to WJSP Picnic Site.
