August 2021 - We are not big hikers, so the +10k on a hot day was going to be a slog. We splurged for the gondola fare up to the roundhouse. The route via the musical bumps is nice terrain as you work your way up/down to singing pass. We stayed two nights at the new hut. That was worth booking the $50ppn. On the rest day I hiked along the Cowboy Ridge to the Adit lakes. The lakes are warmer than russet, so a nice place for a dip. Great views of Fitzsimmons Glacier.
For the hike out, we opted for to head back to the Roundhouse. We felt the terrain would be more enjoyable than the slog down Singing Pass trail. It was a good choice for us. Beers at the Roundhouse were a welcome reward.
