This part of the trail honestly isn't that much of a trip on its own. Bring bikes to get access in deeper.

Easy trail (it's on an old road) through big woods, a dramatic canyon, a recovering burn, and past a big cascade. At 6.5 miles, you can stop at the old drive-in campground, cut off when the road washed out some years ago.
